The Kings of Edom

³¹These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites. ³²Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom, and the name of his city was Dinhabah. ³³When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah, from Bozrah, succeeded him as king. ³⁴When Jobab died, Husham of the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king. ³⁵When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated the Midianites in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Avith. ³⁶When Hadad died, Samlah of Masrekah succeeded him as king. ³⁷When Samlah died, Saul^a of Rehoboth-on-the-river succeeded him as king. ³⁸When Saul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor succeeded him as king. ³⁹And when Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadar succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred daughter of Me-zahab.
