“Standing Behind Old Jewish Ladies in Supermarket Lines” is a comic from Harvey Pekar’s autobiographical comic series American Splendor, which focused on everyday life in Cleveland, Ohio. Not an artist himself, he employed several different comics artists to illustrate his stories. Pekar published seventeen issues of American Splendor, from 1976 to 1998.
