The Posen Library
The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization is a growing, landmark collection of Jewish literature, artwork, and artifacts, from the biblical to the contemporary period. Through printed volumes (Yale University Press) and an online digital site, The Posen Library aims to educate broad audiences about the diversity and richness of Jewish culture from around the world.
For the past 20 years, scholars have been researching, collecting, translating, and writing about these primary sources for The Posen Library. We release volumes as they are completed. Half of the originally commissioned volumes are now available to the public. The remaining half will be released within the next few years.
The Posen Library team is currently comprised of nine full-time staff members spread out across North America as well as multiple part-time staff and dozens of active contractors. While there is a small office in New York City, the team has largely always worked remotely.
