At the December 2020 Association for Jewish Studies conference, The Posen Library staff demonstrated some of the many features of the Posen Digital Library (PDL), valuable for research and online teaching, and the vast content available free upon registration at www.posenlibrary.com. Here are the three brief video tutorials presented at AJS on topics designed to demonstrate the range of disciplines the PDL encompasses.
The Posen Library Editor in Chief Deborah Dash Moore on Gender for Online Teaching
The Posen Library Senior Editor Alison Joseph on The Short 20th Century (1918–2000) for Online Teaching
The Posen Library Senior Editor Alison Joseph on Modern Jewish Politics for Online Teaching
Take a few minutes to discover how you might use the PDL. In addition to the videos here, check out the new Posen Library YouTube Channel.
To access selections on the PDL you do need to register. It’s free and takes just a few minutes. We currently have 2,600 selections online. The Posen Library is constantly growing! When complete, it will cover antiquity through the 21th Century.
The Posen Library is also available for sale in print volumes from Yale University Press. Four of the ten volumes have been published so far – spanning 1750 through 1880 and 1918 through 2005. A fifth volume is coming in Spring 2021: The Posen Library of Jewish Culture and Civilization, Volume 1: Ancient Israel, from Its Beginnings through 332 BCE, edited by Jeffrey H. Tigay and Adele Berlin
