Insult

Poet Carlos Moisés Grünberg was born in Buenos Aires, the son of Russian Jewish immigrants who had lived in Palestine. Grünberg became a lawyer but also taught literature. In the 1920s, he associated with an avant-garde circle of writers, including Jorge Luis Borges and was affiliated with the literary journal Martín Fierro. Grünberg was a contributor to the cultural and literary review Judaica and, in 1946, he edited and translated the Passover Haggadah into Spanish. He was also known for his translations of Heine and Bialik. Grünberg was active in the Zionist movement and was named a liaison between the state of Israel and Argentina in 1948.
