This advice-seeking “editorial” and response, perhaps written by the same editorial hand, were published in the “lo ke nuestros lekturas pensan” (What Our Readers Think) section of La bos del pueblo (The Voice of the Town), a Ladino newspaper published in New York City (1915–1919). The periodical was founded in 1915 as El progreso by Maurice S. Nessim (d. 1964) but changed its name in December 1915.
