On Easter Sunday 1903, Christian rioters violently mobbed the Jewish community in the Bessarabian city of Kishinev (today Chişinău, Moldova). During this two-day pogrom, scores of Jews were killed and raped, hundreds were wounded, and many Jewish homes and businesses were pillaged and destroyed.
