Two Bowls from Nippur, Babylonia

I deposit and si[nk do]wn this bowl and I perform the praxis and it is in the . . . . . of Rabbi Joshua the son of Peraḥia. I am writing divorces for them, for all liliths which appear to them—in this <house> of Babanosh the son of Qayom[ta] and of Saradust the daughter of Širin, his wife—in dream by night and in sleep by day. The divorce of se[paration] and dismissal is in the name of (one) letter out of the middle of (another) letter and (several) letters out of the middle of (several other) letters and (a single) name out of the middle of (many) names and (a single) perforation out of the middle of (many) [perforations] by which heaven and earth are swallowed up and mountains are uprooted, and by which high places are melted. Ah, demons, black-arts, devils, and no-good-ones, liliths. Perish by them from the world. At this juncture, I have come up against them with authority, and I have caused the destroyer to go against you to destroy them and to bring yo[u]‌ forth [fr]om their house, from their dwelling place, from their threshold, and from all . . . . . the place of the bedroom of Baba[no]š the son of Qayomt[a] and of Saradust the daughter of Širin, his wife. And again, you will not appe[ar to them] either in dream by nigh[t or] in sle[ep by day]. . . . . I am dismissing you . . . . . and a letter of dismis[sal] . . . . . according to the law of the daughters of [mankind].
