Psalms of Solomon 9:1–11

1st Century

1When Israel was taken into exile to a foreign country,
when they neglected the Lord, who had redeemed them,
they were expelled from the inheritance
which the Lord had given them.
2The dispersion of Israel [was] among every nation,
according to the saying of God;
That your righteousness might be proven right, O God, in our lawless actions.

The Psalms of Solomon relates to the crisis in Jerusalem during the first century CE and seems to precede the Roman destruction. The text is preserved in Greek and Syriac, but the original language was likely Hebrew.
