Nechama Tec
b. 1931
Born in Lublin, Poland, Nechama Tec moved to Israel after World War II, and then immigrated to the United States. A noted scholar of the Holocaust, Tec has been a professor of sociology at the University of Connecticut. The film Defiance (2008) is based upon her book of the same title.
