C. K. Williams

1936–2015

Poet C. K. Williams was born in Newark, and spent many years teaching at universities in Pennsylvania. He produced several collections of poetry, classical translations, and a memoir; his themes are often concerned with politics. He received the National Book Award, a Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award, and the Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize.
