Diodorus Siculus

Born in Sicily, Diodorus Siculus was a Greek historian. His Bibliotheca Historica (Library of History) draws on many existing histories to tell a sweeping narrative beginning with ancient Egypt, Africa, and the Middle East and ending with the reign of Julius Caesar. The book originally comprised forty volumes, but only some sections survive.
