Nothing is known about Elijah or al-Sitt bint Abū ’l-Barakāt ibn Rawḥ al-Ramlī beyond the circumstances of a single adoption contract made between them, found in the Cairo Geniza. Al-Sitt appears to have been a woman of high standing in the community.
