Ezrat Nashim
Founded in New York by several prominent Jewish feminists, Ezrat Nashim (a reference to the separate women’s sections in synagogues, also signifying “help for women”) was a study group for women dedicated to addressing gender inequalities within Judaism. Appealing to the Rabbinical Assembly of Conservative Judaism, they argued for a rethinking of women’s place in religious life beyond their roles as wives and mothers and called for women’s full participation in religious observance, including being counted in a minyan
