Gregory of Nazianzus
ca. 329–390
Gregory of Nazianzus was a Christian theologian and philosopher who became the archbishop of Constantinople. He was well-known for his contributions to the doctrine of the Trinity and is considered one of the three Cappadocian fathers who shaped early Christian theology. His sermons and writings, especially his “Five Theological Orations,” are foundational in Christian thought. Gregory is a saint in both Eastern and Western Christianity.
