Marcus Cornelius Fronto
ca. 100–ca. 170
Born in North Africa, Marcus Cornelius Fronto was a Roman orator, rhetorician, and tutor to emperors Marcus Aurelius and Lucius Verus. Fronto was held in high regard for his speaking ability and Latin mastery. Although much of his work is lost, his surviving letters, especially to Marcus Aurelius, reveal insights into the personal lives of the Roman elite.
