Norman Podhoretz

1930–2025

Neoconservative political philosopher Norman Podhoretz grew up in Brooklyn, New York. He was the editor in chief of Commentary from 1960 to 1995. He was also a literary critic and the author of numerous books, essays, and several memoirs. He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from George W. Bush in 2004 and the Guardian of Zion Award from Bar-Ilan University in Israel in 2007.
