Orly Castel-Bloom

b. 1960

Novelist and children’s writer Orly Castel-Bloom was born in Tel Aviv. Her book, Dolly City, was published in 1992; at UNESCO’s initiative, it was translated into English and distributed internationally. Castel-Bloom was awarded the Alterman Prize (1993), the Prime Minister’s Prize (1994, 2001), the French WIZO Prize (2005), and the Leah Goldberg Prize (2007).
