Sammy Kanter

Sammy Kanter grew up in Cincinnati and attended Syracuse University. After a short stint in the theater world, he moved back to Cincinnati in 2014, where he worked for the Jewish Federation. Two years later, he decided to attend rabbinical school, receiving his ordination in 2023 from Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion in Los Angeles. He was a rabbinic intern at Ikar, a nondenominational Jewish congregation and community in Los Angeles, and senior rabbinic fellow at synagogue B’nai Jeshurun in New York and is currently the director of Jewish Life at the Mayerson Jewish Community Center, in Cincinnati.
