Strabo

63 BCE–24 CE
Strabo was a Greek historian, self-proclaimed Stoic philosopher, and geographer. He is most noted for giving detailed descriptions of different people and places in the ancient world, recorded in his Geography. His comments on the Judean territories and residents refer deferentially to “Moses the Egyptian priest” as the founder of the group but consider his successors incompetent, which ultimately leads to Pompey’s defeat of Alexander Jannaeus in 63 BCE.
