Synesius

ca. 373–ca. 414

Synesius of Cyrene was a member of a Greek family in Libya. He was a follower of Neoplatonism and a disciple of its well-known proponent Hypatia. Despite his concerns with orthodoxy, Synesius became a bishop in 410 CE.
