T'ruah
T’ruah (originally Rabbis for Human Rights–North America) is a U.S.-based Jewish human rights organization. It brings together rabbis, cantors, and Jewish educators concerned with human rights issues in the United States and Israel. In 2013, it adopted the name T’ruah (a reference to the blast of the shofar) and ended its formal organizational relationship with the Israeli group Rabbis for Human Rights. Rooted in Jewish legal and ethical traditions, T’ruah engages in education, advocacy, and public statements on issues such as immigration, criminal justice, labor practices, and democratic norms. The organization is headquartered in New York City and works primarily through its rabbinic network.
