Biblical Prooftexts for Resurrection
Sifre Deuteronomy 47
3rd or 4th Century
So that your days will be increased (Deuteronomy 11:21)—in this world—and the days of your children (ibid.)—in the days of the Messiah—as the days of the heavens upon the earth (ibid.)—in the world to come.
On the land that the Lord promised your ancestors He would give to them (ibid.). It is not written “give to you,” but give to them. Thus we learn resurrection of the dead from the Torah.
Translated by Jenny R. Labendz.
