The Revolutionary Land of Russia

Jewish Socialist Federation of America

1917

Dos revolutsyonere Rusland (Revolutionary Russia) was a Yiddish-language publication issued in 1905, during the Russian Revolution. Published in New York by the Jewish Socialist Federation, the booklet served as a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the Bund and the Jewish Socialist Workers’ Press in Russia. Its contents included revolutionary reportage, political essays, biographies, poetry, and ideological writings, along with photographs of revolutionaries. One of its editors, J.B. Salutsky (later known as J.B.S. Hardman, 1882–1968), became a prominent voice in American labor education and leftist politics; the other editor was A. Litwak (1874–1932), an active Jewish socialist and Bundist in New York who contributed to several Yiddish publications.
