Yalta

Yalta was the wife of R. Naḥman, a fourth-century CE Babylonian sage. According to tradition, she came from the elite family of the exilarch (see The Exilarch in Babylonian Jewish Society). Her character is that of a powerful woman who both challenged the scholars around her and received special privileges.
