The earliest known Judeo-Persian polemic, this untitled work preserves many archaic forms. The author criticizes Christians, Muslims, and Zoroastrians for their beliefs about prophecy and defends the importance of the ritual of circumcision in particular. He provides biblical verses in Judeo-Persian translation and displays some knowledge of rabbinic midrash. It is clear that his community faced pressure to abandon Judaism.
