Neil Simon
1927–2018
Playwright and screenwriter Neil Simon was born in New York City. He served in the U.S. military during World War II and then wrote for radio and television. He wrote and produced numerous Broadway plays. Among Simon’s awards were the Pulitzer Prize, the Tony Award, the Golden Globe, the Writers Guild of America Award, and the 2006 Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
