Manuscript page with 3 rows of illustrations of parts of buildings with Hebrew text above. — This map showing the Naḥmanides Synagogue in Jerusalem, named after the medieval rabbi, was made in Italy by a Jewish scribe and is an example of a “pilgrimage scroll.” Pilgrimage scrolls were known as “itineraries” because they included instructions for visiting holy sites. This map appears in the book *Yiḥus ha-avot* (*Genealogy of the Patriarchs*).
