Toubias

Little is known about Toubias (spelled Tobias in Latin and Tobiah in Hebrew), a Jewish financial officer who served under the Ptolemaic administration. He likely served as a military commander for the Ptolemies in Transjordan. If an account by Josephus is to be believed, Toubias was the father of Joseph, founder of the prominent Tobiad clan.
