Libanius

ca. 314–ca. 393

Libanius was a prominent Greek rhetorician and teacher based in Antioch, in the Eastern Roman Empire. A staunch pagan, he defended traditional Greco-Roman religious practices against Christianity. He wrote extensive speeches, letters, and rhetorical exercises.
