Moses Khorenats‘i
ca. 410s–ca. 490s
Moses (or Movses) Khorenats‘i was a historian of Armenia. Moses’ Patmutyun Hayots (History of the Armenians), written at the behest of the prince, was the first universal history of the region, covering the ancient period until the author’s death, likely in the late fifth century. Moses became a bishop and is venerated as a saint by the Armenian Church.
