A city at last. We go through a town called Tartaków, Jews, ruins, Jewish-type cleanliness, race, little shops.

I'm still ill, cannot get over the battles around Lvov. How stale the air is in these towns. The infantry has been in Sokal, but the city is untouched. The div. chief of staff is lodging with some Jews. Books, I've…
