Ten kabs of poverty came down into the world; Babylonia took nine, and the rest of the world one. Ten kabs of arrogance came down into the world; Elam took nine, and the rest of the world one. Ten kabs of strength came down into the world; the Persians took nine [and the rest of the world one]. Ten kabs of lice came down into the world; Media took nine [and the rest of the world one]. Ten kabs of sorcery came down into the world; Egypt took nine [and the rest of the world one]. Ten kabs of plagues came down into the world; nine were taken by pigs [and the rest of the world one]. Ten kabs of promiscuity came down into the world; Arabia took nine [and the rest of the world one]. Ten kabs of insolence came down into the world; Mesene took nine [and the rest of the world one].
