English Ketubah (New York)
1902
This staunchly Reform ketubah—it is entirely in English—reflects the changing nature of the Hebrew Publishing Company, which had long published primarily for the Yiddish- and Hebrew-using immigrant Jewish market, and was likely absorbed into Joseph Werbelowsky's publishing company in the early 20th century. It formalizes the marriage of Harry Weisberger and Anna Lenson in New York City on August 26, 1902. They were married by Rabbi (Reverend) Joseph Segal, the rabbi (minister) of Congregation Bnai Abraham.
