Nethanel ben al-Fayyūmī

Nethanel ben al-Fayyūmī was a scholar, philosopher, and communal leader in San‘a, Yemen. The patronymic al-Fayyūmī indicates that Nethanel’s family hailed from Fayyūm, in Upper Egypt. It is thought that Maimonides sent his “Epistle to Yemen” to Nethanel’s son Jacob.
