Rental of a Slave
548 BCE
Tsidki-Yama, son of Shillimu (Shillem), voluntarily placed Puhulla, his slave, at the disposal of Shikin-Yama, son of Hinnamu, for his wages of six shekels of silver from the first day of Abu (Ab) until the first day of Ululu (Elul), year nine (of Nabonidus).
Tsidki-Yama (Zedekiah) rents out his slave for one month at a nominal fee to serve as security and to work off the interest on a debt that he owes to Shikin-Yama (Shechaniah). This document was written in Judah-town in 548 BCE.
