Jewish Men’s and Women’s Clothing in Worms (Tracht der Juden zu Worms)

The illustrations Tracht der Juden zu Worms (Jewish Men’s and Women’s Clothing in Worms) show a man and woman in typical Jewish fashion of the sixteenth century. The woman wears a white veil and carries a white goose; the man has a chaperon hat, and is carrying a money bag and garlic, both of which were associated with Jews. Both wear a ringed badge on their clothing as a mandatory sign identifying them as Jews.
