Susanna

The story of Susanna tells the dramatic tale of a woman falsely accused of adultery and the punishment of her scheming and devious accusers. The story is set in Babylon, presumably during the time of the Babylonian exile, and serves as a critique of corrupt leadership. The story of Susanna appears in the additions to the book of Daniel in the Septuagint. It was composed during the Hellenistic period. (For more of the additions to Daniel, see “Daniel, the Serpent, and the Lion’s Den.”)
