In this betrothal document from Egypt, Moses ha- Yakar and Sitt al-Kull pledge their marriage, which was set to take place in less than a week. Sitt al-Kull promises to move from her home in Fustāt (Old Cairo) to her husband’s city of al-Maḥalla, Egypt. The well-known court scribe Ḥalfon ben Manasseh wrote this document in a court notebook. The unbracketed ellipsis indicates a lacuna in the manuscript.
